What is the Vermont Talent Pipeline?
The Vermont Talent Pipeline addresses the talent supply gap by connecting employer needs with training programs and funding resources to better prepare the labor force with job-ready skills. The TPM model was founded by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation (USCCF) and is currently involved in a national rollout. Vermont has helped set the standard for the country as the first statewide implementation with employer collaboratives in 3 critical industries: Construction, Healthcare and Advanced Manufacturing.
Mary Anne Sheahan is the Vermont Talent Pipeline's Executive Director. Mary Anne is a Project Management Professional employed in a statewide Talent Pipeline Management initiative by the Vermont Business Roundtable in South Burlington. She was trained in Talent Pipeline Management in 2017 by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation, and serves as a TPM National Fellow and faculty member for the TPM Academy.
She is experienced in higher education, working at University of Vermont and Champlain College, and in workforce development as a member of the Training and Credentialing Committee of the Vermont Workforce Development Board; the Chittenden County Career and Technical Education Centers' Regional Advisory Board; and as a Business Advisor to the Credential Engine, a national non-profit for credential transparency. She serves as the chair of the Stewardship Committee of Vermont Works for Women.
Mary Anne is a UVM graduate and has a Master's degree in Business Administration, with industry expertise in process-improvement, supply-chain management and information technology. She is married to Chris Sheahan, with 3 young adult children, Hugh, Clare and Ted.
